crimson looks different when sub behind clouds

I was driving by BMW dealer today and saw this gorgeous red car...like a dark, wet red. I thought it must be some special order.

Turns out it was crimson...it wasn't completely overcast...just a few clouds..but enough to completely change look of car from bright fire engine to dark red.

anyone else notice this?

it's funny how lighting condition changes the color of the car, quite amazing, really. During daylight a color would appear to be brighter than when it's cloudy out.

Most colors are that way. The perception of the color is entirely dependant on the parameters of the light source.

I guess I opened myself for that..

just saying the difference seemed more drastic to me that on typical color

I have no Idea how they would get it Airborne. And even if they did, if it's behind the clouds then the clouds would be in the way.... So yeah, I'm calling Bullshit....

All colors are different based on the available light and surroundings. Black Less so, but even then.

How do you know? Mine told me he was color blind. But then again he does not see, most of the day.....
