335 AC quits blowing after long trip

Last week after about a 7hr trip actually I had about 70miles left my AC quit blowing normally. I could hear it but it was not coming out of the vents. I had this similiar problem with my 2004 ZHP but I figured they would have fixed this problem by now. When I got home I turned my car off and turned it back on and it was fine again.

Anybodu else have this problem with the E92?

Thanks,
Lance

Interesting - this was a topic discussed several times with the early E90. I think people determined that a frozen compressor (or some such) was to blame, and there was a SIB for it.

My memory is foggy because I'm thinking way back, though, to the early E90 builds. Maybe there was not an SIB, but I think so. In any case, I haven't had any issues with my A/C and I haven't seen any reports of this problem since back then.

You might want to search to see if the old problem is similar to yours, for some ideas if your SA can't figure it out.

Yeah, I'm going to ask him if he can check my service records and see what the problem was on my 330.

Sounds like some peoples marriages after the Honey moon...

I don't have anything helpful to add sorry. Very strange though.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the ipod adapter box that was hitting some type of flap behind the vents causing the ac to cycle incorrectly. If you had an ipod adapter installed that is most likely the cause. THe BMW techs couldn't figure it out and thought it was a software problem. Thanks to this forum, I was given the heads up of this problem and told the service dept. and sure enough, that was the cause. Good luck.

Thank god, I thought I was crazy!!! Same damn thing happaned to me, the fan speed was set to the highest setting, and I heard the air blowing around but it was not coming out nearly as much or as cold as what normally comes out. I stopped for gas, and when I fired her back up, all was well. Only happaned once when I drove from Philly to Hartford and back in one day.

No ipod adapter in my car. It hasn't acted up again but I'm still gonna tell them to check it out. I also noticed a dimple on one of my run flats. Are tires warrantied as well?
