Traction control question..
this might be a retarded question, but please bare with me. I want to know how traction control really works behind the scene?
The reason i ask this, is say for instance, i floor it at an intersection trying to make a left turn. Traction control kicks in, however, even though i regain/maintain control, my car would rev all the way to 6,500rpm but not go anywhere. What gives? It's really weird. When it does, the amber traction control light is not lighting up on the dash, so it's not really working but my car is going slower then it should. At the next light, everything is back to normal again.

Yes, canucklion, bare with him.
FWIW, I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking what traction control does? It monitors the car's lateral acceleration and wheel slippage and applies the brakes on individual wheels and/or cuts out the throttle, as necessary to stabilize the car. It probably does more than that, but that's a good 90% of it.
