Back hurts after test drive...

Hi all, I test drove a new 335i sedan, and I loved it. Except for one thing,my lower back is hurting me. And I believe it has to do with the soft seats. Even as I type this, my back is bothering me. Is there anyway for me to make the seats more firm? Would I have to order lumbar support? When I drove the Mercedes-Benz,the seats were nice and firm. But on the BMW,they were soft(which is nice),but they made my back hurt. Once again, is there a way to make the seats more firm ?

time to shape up, exercise regularly, do lots of reverse crunches to strengthen your lower back muscle.

kidding, if the seat is bothering you, then order the lumbar support (part of premium package, not sure if you can order it as a stand-alone option), the lumbar support should firm it up for you

Strange. I don't have sport package or premium, and everyone who gets in my car complains about how hard the seats are. Especially everyone in my family says how stonehard are the seats comparing to the Lexus GS I had before or Mercedes E350.

Kidding?? Not Kidding.... A test drive screws up the lower back because the seat is too soft??? The only thing "Too SOFT" is the OP...

OK OK...

Seriously though, my seat are pretty damn firm and come with all manner of Lumbar adjustments. They are probably some of the firmest seats I've ever sat in.

i was disappointed to find out that the seats do not have the support that comes with the 5 series. i was hoping to see those two side pieces that squeeze your ribs into the seat!!

i couldnt find the switches for them. all i was able to find was the circle for lumbar support, and the seat-shaped buttons.
maybe i was looking for the wrong buttons, or buttons are different between 5 and 3 series.

The button is further up the seat toward the front and not on the sides like the other controls.

yeah, the side bolsters are there (only if you have sport seats though) to accommodate body of all shapes and sizes
