I made the Boat - U.S. Bound!

Looks like I made the boat!

Talisman – arrival in Baltimore 7/22.

Then if I can dodge the EPA guys and the BWM marketing folks and I could have my car well before 9/1!

GGT won't be decided until the EPA does their testing. From what I have been told there will be a GGT

I'm hoping that 200lbs weight saving over the 6 Cabrio will lead to exemption. The 6 cabrio misses the threshold by about 2mpg. If the 200lb weight saving yields 2mpg, then M5 is clear.

Looking online, some formulae suggest that 200lbs is worth 1mph. If it comes in at 21mpg, then that's very close to the 22mpg. Should be a lower GGT than the M6 cabrio. Small possibility we will get lucky. The test will be close.

This is like the whole discussion, "will BMW release the cars before 9/1 or hold them?". No one knows until its official.

I was told that no current Porsche models have GGT. Is this true? Even the Panamera Turbo S?!

Bmill. Looks like you can track the ship at http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/. Tourbillon posted this in another thread.

I have been tracking the ship..... It is moving at a average of 16.5, not sure if that is knots or miles per hour. Either way that is the slowest average I hope the car ever sees!

If you aren't already, be sure to reference the order/shipping tracking thread @ http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=680284

For the life of me I can not figure that site out!

I'm using Sailwx.info

We're gaining speed up to 17.3 knots. With a smooth ride waves only meters.

getting closer!

Just happened to check with dealer and found out my car loaded yesterday and is already en route to Baltimore aboard the "Dover Highway". Expected arrival date 7/28. Clipping along just fine (knock on wood)

Looks like the Talisman is about 11 hours out from port. Should be in port late Sunday AM.

Thank you for helping me keep tabs!

I was at the dealer today. The GM did agree the car has not been EPA certified and had no idea on the timing......
I'm just hoping we get some news early next week.

Anyone know how to keep tabs on certification? The EPA site is hard to follow.
