I commend the fact that a member saw a mod was overpriced and took the initiative to make one.
Anyone want to do the same with an intake? I don't see why currently the cheapest intake for the 335 is 1800. I know some company is coming out with a replica, for 800-900, but that's still insane for an intake(a replica at that!). I'm sure stuff most people don't care about CF, so leave that out, as i'm sure it drags costs up. |

I actually know a guy whose business does CF performance parts for cars and wanted to do a test fit on my car. I told him that was OK with me, but I have not heard from him. If there is a market out there, I can reestablish contact and find out some estimates, I thought the IC made the intake redundant.

AFe is currently doing R&D on the 335i intake but it's a full complete setup meaning not only the airbox but the tubing leading to the compressor side of the turbos.

What's with people and CF? Why does an intake have to CF? Let's make it without CF and actually normally priced. |

If this costs along the lines of the Gruppe M rep, I'm all in.

i would guess that you would get probably 90% of the benefit of a full intake just from a K&N drop in........
Just a guess though.....

Point being, most companies don't use CF for it's benefits. They use it to drive up costs and then charge an obscene premium to the end consumer. |

and by "it" I mean my penis. Most of the actual intaking of air is done by the turbo's, this is why drop in filters and air boxes dont do much on a turbo car. At least someone smart enough to realize this. |
