Do you know of any car that has this feature?

Say it's a hot day. You leave your car but you know what time you're getting back. So you can program the car to start the A/C like five minutes before you get back and you come back to a nicely chilled cabin.

My BMW does that, though it is just the fan without the compressor.

this is a pretty well known feature
i thought you were being sarcastic when you said "one can only dream"

once again, it only runs the ventilation, NOT the air conditioning unit

I know a lot of people that get aftermarket remote start systems for this feature. They just leave the AC on when shutting off the car then when it's like 5 minutes to leave from work they start the car from the office and since they left the AC on the on position it automatically comes on. My buddies security system/remote start has like a crazy one mile range.

I have admit, it didn't help much the last time I tried it in 105 deg weather. Then again, my car was not in the shade.

Hold the unlock button to lower all the windows and open the sunroof as you are walking to the car. It makes a hellvua difference in a heat soaked car.

I know some cars have a solar panel roof that collects energy to run a fan which keeps the car cool. Tesla Model S, f/e. I think some Audis and Mercs do it too

Oh and it works max 20 min, wich is enough in winter to clear your windows

It doesnt work when your battery is low or you have hit reserve because it burns petrol...

In german it is called "standheizung"

The only thing my car has is a REST button (Cold Weather Package) and it heats your car for 15-20mins on cold days.

Like people have mentioned, there is a ventilation feature available only on IDrive models.

I was just talking about this yesterday with a few people. I think they have some type of thermometer on the windshield.. like a little panel in the corner to pick up temperature and will actually turn the ac system on to remain a certain temperature in the cabin. I believe i heard it was on the new lexus models. Im no 100% sure though
