New I-Drive User
Okay, so I ordered my first BMW with I-drive, and I've never used this option before. Can anyone tell me about the various features besides the obvious, navigation, entertainment, climate control things. For example, special settings for your car that aren't available in a non-I-drive car. Thanks!

You can have two functions visible at a time, i.e., stereo and map; map and location. Graphical information on the state of the car such as oil level. Graphical PDC if optioned. I don't think you'd get the display with PDC. There are others, I'm sure, but since I have iDrive and never have had non-iDrive I really don't know other than "the obvious".

All of the things listed above, plus being able to personalize more user settings, such as intensity of the auto climate, using the equalizer for Logic 7, accessing cell phone info such as phonebooks, last dialed call, missed call etc, setting how your lighting works (welcome light, etc), triple turn signal activation, plus all the navi stuff with RTTI. Well worth it!!
