Non-Oxygenated vs Oxygenated Fuel

Well I decided to be the guinea pig for VP Racing to try out their new C9 Ethonal Free 96 Octane race fuel that is non-oxygenated

I had less than a quater tank of Shell V before i added 5 gallons of the C9. The perfomance of the car was very noticeable especially in South Florida heat.

I was so impressed the next day i went back to VP to fill it up and to get a good fuel system cleaning.

Two days later I went to start my car and yes sirrrr, lonnnnnnng cold start cranks HPFP ? NOOOOOOOO !

after getting the car started everything was fine, but when i turned the car off for more than 10 minutes it was a wonder if I will need to call a tow truck.

Good thing I had to drive some distances for the next 2 days. When the gas got to a quarter tank I filled it up with Shell V again.

After some long driving and a day no more long cranks.

When mixing car performed great
When running straight non-oxygenated fuel your going to have a nightmare

Just some heads up. Always make sure the race gas your select is:
  1. Unleaded (for most),
  2. and Oxygenated

Question? Oxyengated fuels have a higher combustion rate. Will that not put more stress on our fuel pumps?

The Sunoco 98 oct you are talking about must be the 260 GTX non-oxygenated.

Did you run this straight ? Meaning absolutely NO oxygenated mix with it ? Even atleast 10% oxygenated is still not running straight. Did you refill mutiple times on the 260 GTX consecutively ?
