Quick question for those with CSL trunks (e92)

Does the button right above the license plate still work to open the trunk when the doors are unlocked or do you lose that functionality?

Thanks in advance,

You have to transfer the whole lock mechanism. From what i read it can be complicated and parts break easily, but it can be done.

Don't have this button... only pre-LCI?

Thanks. I'll look up a DIY thread. My guess is that most CF trunks wouldn't come with the button spot pre-cutout so would probably loose it.

It's a nice feature, but if it's not standard to transfer it, it's probably not worth the effort. The button is a nice little feature though.

If its a pre-lci trunk it should come with the cut out.

I just installed mine, and if you mean the middle black handle that you can squeeze to unlock the trunk, then yea i still have that.

You transfer the whole locking mechanism over to the new trunk.
Like someone said earlier, the actual key cylinder is trick to remove tho.

Thanks guys. Make sense that it comes cut out for the Pre-lci cars. This is good news.
