Pro Solo Finale and SCCA Solo Nationals
I'm in for both the Pro and Nationals. Kerry is in for Nationals.
To listen live: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sccasolo This Saturday (9/1) and Sunday (9/2) for the Pro. Tuesday through Friday for the full Nationals. Kerry and I run Tuesday (9/4) and Wednesday (9/5) mornings. Probably between 8:00 and 9:00 each morning. Think happy thoughts for us 1M Coupe competitors.

The storm is going to the west of us, so hopefully it will be dry for the pro solo. I could not get in the event. It filled up too fast for drivers with only one event this year.
The 1m is as fast off the line as the other cars in the class, so that should not an issue for matt. Pro solo is generally faster than regular solo too. There are no weak drivers in the field in pro solo. Now the tour is a mix of drivers but out of the 16 drivers there are about 9 that could win. The field is deeper than I thought it would be at the 1st of the year. I figured being mid pack was going to be easy. Now, i think finishing in the top ten would be a big deal. I don't know if we are any closer to sorting the cars. I am running a ton of rear toe and it maybe too much for the surface at Lincoln, which is super grippie. i never got enough runs to sort the car, so everything is pretty much set to 3/4 stiff. Here is the crazy thing about nationals. The entry is about $150 and the tires are about $30 a pass, so it is $60 a pass.

Entering Ohio (or leaving Pennsylvania).
1-80 start. I just have to go 1,200 miles and turn right. Crossing the George Washinton Bridge

Matt was on pace today. Just outside the trophies.
I have a major understeer issue and will be dialing it out after it cools down tonight. The car has to be softened on all 4 corners. Taken 25% of the bound out and probably the same for rebound. The front has to be lowered too. I am about a half inch higher in the front than Matt.

Oh so close to a trophy Matt- Steve (in the Cayman) blew his last run, but still held you off. Hope you had some fun anyway.
I hear understeer was an issue? Those Vettes were certainly quick. Steve figures even if he drove perfectly both days he could have placed no higher than 3rd.

I had major setup issues. Jeremy foley told me i would have massive understeer with the amount of rear toe on the surface at lincoln. Well he was right.
Matt was on pace. My car will be going up for sale and i will be moving back to street tire class in STX. My co-driver and i have a much cheaper per pass option that is a car for the class.

Sorry to hear that. You dialed in a bunch of toe to get the power down, but it ended up working too well? Lincoln is super sticky, and needs a setup that can deal with that...
Are you jumping ship mostly to save costs, or are you concerned for the car's long term competitiveness in class? Are you going to return it to stock before selling and sell the other bits off?

Long term cost.
The car can trophy in the class. I honestly feel i could have put the car in the trophies with a setup that worked on that surface. Now, i do not think the car is on par with the c5 but it is not that much off of it. The car has cost about $30 a pass to run, which is not that bad, but we built a STX before this car came along. It cost about $5 a pass.

I think the car is nasa ttb**, which means you go straight to nasa tta with the vetts that weigh about 200 lbs less.
The cost of the tires is just killer without camber.

By near perfect setup what do you mean? Nailing the alignment, shock setting?
