Any feedback on Bridgestones RE-01R?

What with the $100 rebate on Bridgestones for CCA members (valid until Aug 17 I think), I'm thinking of purchasing a set of tires for my E92 335 Sport Pack. Even though I don't have the car back yet...

Does anybody have some feedback on these tires? I've read the reviews on TireRack, but would like to know how they work on the 335 if possible...

I didn't think those were available for stock rear size until very recently

255/35/18

I see that they are available now, if they were available 2 months ago I would have gone for those over the PS2's

Awesome tires, probly the best street tires I've ever had.

They grip like mad, but they are pretty quiet and pretty comfy, which makes them unique in the extreme performance segment. They are a tiny bit heavier than comparable tires, but all Bridgestones are.

I can guarantee you will be very, very happy with them.

I replaced my stock RFTs with the RE-01R's (17"). The grip level is much improved over stock tires. Steering respond is also better. The tires have really stiff sidewalls, so the ride quality is similar to RFTs. They are noisier than the RE050's that I tried but quieter than my EL42's.

the re01-r were the tires that they were running on the pacecars at the San Jose Grand Prix (champ car)

they looked like they were sticking pretty well when they were hot lapping between qualifying sessions

I will have a complete review coming up commenting on the RE-01R's along with a bunch of other cool stuff... very soon.

Short take on the RE-01R? Nothing comes close to it. NOTHING. Get them without hesitation or reservation! Get them and enjoy!

Agreed, and at the price, blows everything out of the water. Cost 20-30% less than Pilot Sports... I have had REO-50A Pole Positions as well with a great experience.

RE-01R: Treadwear, totally acceptable, smooth, low noise, grip - same as my evo's yokohama Advan A0-46's (basically the best you can ride on short of track tires)...

Get em!

Great tires, too bad they don't make them in 235/35/19 and 265/30/19.

Thanks guys... I've actually gotten some quotes from local shops regarding these, and it's not expensive at all.

I'm thinking of getting 235/40 and 265/35 on the stock SP rims...

I had a tough time deciding btw the Re01R and the Pirelli P-0. I ended up with the P-0 because they are 4-5 lbs lighter.

Ive got the RE01r's on my M3. Honestly, Im not the biggest fan of them. First off they are heavy tires. Secondly, they are narrow for their size. Meaning I have 245's on the rear and could have easily fit 255's on the rim. Lastly, I dont feel that I get as much grip as my favorite tires of all time the BFG KD's.

Oh, and finding a comfortable pressure to run them at is tedious.

I should have just gotten the pilot sport cups in the first place.

I used to have them on my 2 year old E60. Not only were they heavy on the steering, the grip in the rain is not as good as Pirelli PZero Nero or Goodyear F1 (German made).

The 01R is terrrific in the dry but I felt it was too overbearing and irritable in the end. It is not comfortable for the long term everyday driving.
