EMERGENCY! Iphone 4s locked up after plugging into idrive
So this morning I got into my which is a 2009 328i with the HD Idrive, and plugged my iphone 4s into it while the phone was off. The car did not recognize it so I opened the console to reconnect it then I see the apple boot up screen with a bunch of error codes and everything on it. Half of the lettering is grey and the bottom half is white. It says:
Debugger message: panic OS version: not set yet Kernel version: Darwin Kernel version 11.0.0: Sun Apr 8 21:51:47 PDT 2012; root :xnu-1878.11.10~1/RELEASE_ARM_S5L8940X iBoot version: iBoot- 1219.62.15 secure boot?: YES Panicing version 1 then a whole bunch of numbers then is says Dumping thread state and stacks I tried shutting it off and holding the sleep button but nothing happens. I tried a bunch of button combos and nothing happens. I need my phone and this cant happen right now. How do I fix this? :mad0 260:: mad0260:

Did you try taking out the battery and reinstalling it?

Thats what I was going to do, but I did not have the tool to undo the back. Took it to verizon and they did a software re-boot and fixed it. NEVER PLUG YOUR PHONE INTO THE CAR UNLESS ITS ON!

Good deal. A lesson learned for sure. How do you like your IPhone? I have a Motorola Atrix 4G Android now. I was thinking about switching when my contract is up because of it being compatible with my car.

Took it to verizon. It died right as I got there from the screen being on for 4 hours straight. He plugged it into the charger and did a software reset then every thing was fine. Did not lose a single thing on the phone thank god!

For future reference, while the phone is unplugged just hold the sleep button down for three seconds, then while continuing to hold down sleep, hold home button down as well. The phone will reboot after about 10-15 seconds.
This command is built into the phones iphones firmware and can be done in any screen or even when locked up. |
