This is my first time contract hiring a car, and while the promotional rate was attractive enough to hook me, I'm not feeling particularly reassured by the whole process so far.

The purpose of this thread is to share experiences, and is particularly aimed at anyone who signed up for the promotional rate on a 330d M-Sport that was offered by Central UK Vehicle Leasing, Solent Leasing and perhaps other brokers.

My own experience (with Central UK Vehicle Leasing) is as follows:

24th August - made initial phone enquiry and was sent a blank proposal form, but no written confirmation of exact lease terms;

I was then rejected for finance without explanation, despite perfect credit record etc etc;

31st August - finance company changed mind after submission of bank statements, I submitted order confirmation form;

3rd September - had heard nothing so chased broker by email and phone;

5th September - still heard nothing, chased again and was told yes, it's all fine, order is placed, paperwork will be with you asap.

6th September - I sent email to broker listing options I wanted to add and would pay for up front. Broker forwarded this to dealer and copied me in.

11th September - still no written confirmation of vehicle spec, any dealer order number or other objective proof that a vehicle order has actually been placed with the factory. I phoned the dealer direct and left message for contact to call me.

13th September - still no call back from dealer and no paperwork.

Should I be expecting to see more paperwork at this stage ?

How do others' experiences compare ?

I have been told some interesting stories about Central UK Vehicle Leasing. Quite a challenging company to deal with and then some.

It seems the OP is not alone.

I haven't leased from a major leasing company for a few years, but sounds about par for the course, they are rubbish at any sort of communication. Pretty poor that they haven't confirmed order though.

Above is the reason I would prefer to pay a little more and go through a BMW dealer/finance. What happens if there are warranty issues?

They were supposed to be emailing me back with a choice of 330d's (various
options) but never did. They obviously dont want the business.

I nearly contacted them. Then I went somewhere else and got the deal I wanted. I still wonder if they could have bettered the price I got. Anyway, it's academic now.

I have ordered through central, nothing like the same experience, painless and straightforward even accommodating some extra options that I need to pay the dealer direct for after all the paperwork was signed n sent back. Got a delivery date yesterday by mail of 10 dec which not ideal was as I would expect never had a factory order on time... Comms have been good and prompt so far.. Hopefully u will hear back soon..

Thanks for the responses.

I've now had an email confirming the order and an expected delivery date (17th December, which seems about right going by others' experience) and asking for copy driver's licence, utility bill.

We'll see how it goes......

So many EBIIs around that we'll go blue in the face!
Have you've ordered Adaptive Suspenders or at least deleted the M Sport Suspenders?

You'll need it with 19" rims on our tarmac. Drove one with and wihout Adaptive on 19" rims. The latter moved my liver into my throat, compressed my spine and I nearly called 999.

Well what I meant was.......in the UK it seems that quite a lot of M Sports will be EBII, so to have one of the other colours would be different amongst M Sports.

If that makes sense?

Just had a call from a friend of mine who's ordered an F30 320d M Sport through Central Leasing. He's got the documents from 'Network' (the finance company) and nowhere does it specify the options he's ordered through Central Leasing. However, Central have specified these on his Vehicle Order Form. Is this standard practice, does he sign?

Coral Red Leather seats were a must. The exterior colour had to match! Without doubt, EBII IMO is the best. The combination had a touch of BLING! A real thief magnet!!!

Is he paying for the options within the lease rate, i.e. paying Network, or is he paying up front direct to the dealer ? I'm doing the latter, because apparently it wasn't possible to do the former on the "special" rate we're getting.

I've just spoken to him! He is paying for the options as part of the lease. His basic lease is £248.99 + VAT.

Small error. He's not leasing from Central but another company who matched Central's prices.
