335 Procede VS Mitsu Lancer evo MR
Heres my story for my first heads up race with a comperable car... The evo MR (had aftermarket exhaust and who knows what else?) was stopped at a light and I pulled up next to him ( with no intention of racing because i was a few blocks from home) He was stopped at the cross walk and I stopped about 3 feet ahead of him.
I accelerated normally using paddle shifter as i normally do, I was in first gear and took off slightly ahead of him (1/2 car length) -- i could hear his car hammer down on the accelerator he passed my by 1/2 length --- then it was on I floored it and upshift to second (at this point were both at full throttle) I immediately evened back up, hit 3rd and pulled 1/2 ahead, but the time 4th came around i was about 1 & 1/2 lengths ahead of him. 5th I was basically gone (he gave up by the time I hit 5th) Im posting this for anyone who cares and just to point out the fact how great the procede is. I have had proced for about 3 months and have not had a single problem. thanks to shiv for making such a great product. I need my version 2 NOW

Nice kill!!!! Those guys in the EVOs seem to think they're faster than everyone...they are very fast cars and do beat many others, until they meet up with a PROcede 335i that is.

Good question? Considering the 335i's TQ advantage, it would be interesting, especially when PROcede 2.0 is released. Not sure about your area, but I haven't come across any 400WHP+ EVOs; I'm there are a few around, but... In any event, I guess you can never be sure what's under the hood, but I'd say a majority of modded cars aren't quite that extreme.

Nice kill! But going from a roll negates the evos biggest advantage; awd launches. I would be more warry trying to take one from a dig...unless you are driving an XI

There's a video floating around somewhere in here, where there is a 335i taking a video of an EVO and GTO. The 335i couldn't even keep up. I think with a heavily modded EVO or GTO, the 335i even with PROcede, will have a problem keeping up.
Hey, don't hate me for being honest. I own a 335i and I am very happy with it. Just merely stating the truth here.

OP: do you normally drive using paddle shifter? Mine has steptronic too but I use paddle shifter only in racing mood.
OWNING! Those EVO's owners like to race anyone. The 500+ BHP might try to race F430

FYI, my car trapped 120 on pump and lays waste to my buddy's 450 whp modded Z06 from a roll.

A418t81-you are correct. The Evo, stock, is pretty weak at 230whp. but with about $1,500 invested..including labor. You can go up to about 300whp MINIMUM with no problem. A friend of mine is running 12.5 in a 1/4 on the high elevation track around here. And all he has on his Evo is a turboback, boost controller and reflash. The 4G63 is a proven motor and has been dubbed one of the best 4 cylinder motors ever built. The Evo is however doesn't do well from rolling start since it is AWD. |

with procede most guys are getting from 12.7 to 13 on stock tires so if his car was totally otherwise stock (other than exhaust) its practical that i was ahead of him .. trust me we were going full throttle - I could hear his turbo screaming. I not here to debate which car can be faster.(the advantage obviously goes to the evo) im simply stating my satisfaction with the fact that the procede is an great mod and with time we will be pushing 500 plus like the evos can

Im sooooooooo tired of hearing and reading others menusha about beating this car,, taking that car.. Its fine if you leave it at that,,, but to say X car beat V car,,, well do this to V car and it will do this to X car,,, blah blah blah.
But hey, to each thier own. Just enjoy what you have and it dosnt have to be the fastest car on the streets. Cause it never will be. there is always 100 cars faster. Always. |

..... but this is a message board. Sure there are many posts on ?? vs ?? But it's a disscussion board where people not only ask questions but comment on common problems/ideas.
I don't really like to race that much either, but here people tend to bring up questions on topics like, would a 335i with PROcede beat a ????. And everyone has stats, but few get the chance to race one. I found this topic good, and good kill! I have never had a problem with EVO's, but that's good to know that a 335i fellow member owned one!

I messed around w/ an EVO yesterday on a backroad......never could line up just flooring in the straights.
Then he pulls the all time bonehead maneuver and passes me and a slow driver going over a blind hill. Seriously, you couldn't see 30 yards past the driver IN FRONT OF ME and he still passed. I thought I was about to witness a head on collision. Idiot!
