Velocity 19" CSL Style - Silver or Hyperblack for Jet Black e90 335i sedan?
HyperBlack
or Silver I ask because I have no taste. I ask because I trust the opinions of e90post.com. Therefore, while I understand the choice is ultimately mine and it is my personal preference, I do appreciate your input. Thank you! I was first a fan of silver hands down, but now HyperBlack is growing on me. Here are my concerns: 1. It is a BMW. Would hyperblack = too ricey? 2. Would silver really make it look the cleanest? 3. HyperBlack not too aggressive I hope? 4. Which one matches Jet Black the most? Which one would you get for a Jet Black sedan e90post? |

I just got the gunmetal ones and very happy with them (once I get them to fit right) Would like to see the black ones in person though. I would go with silver for a black car =)

Cant go wrong with neither, I think both will look good.
I voted for Hyperblack cause that is what I have on my car (Jet Black as well) I love my 19" Hyperblacks. Good looking wheels no matter what color in my opinion. |

Hyperblacks are not that "dark" as some pictures suggest on this forum.
You need to see it in person. It looks more like polished silver/almost has a chrome look to it. I dont think they are "ricey" looking at all but maybe I m just that ghetto. My jet black looks gangsta with Hyperblacks and tint |

Hybeprblack is the best - silver is just regular color.
Go for something outstanding IMO hyperblack + black car would be perfect.

Just an FYI that **********s is presently out of stock on the 19" CSL (ET30) in silver finish. They do have the black.
I just ordered a set (in silver, for a TiAG color car) and will be waiting a few weeks. |

Weight?
First of all the wheels look nice, but what's the weight and size for e92? Are they staggered setup? If so what size? How heavy are they for both Front fitment and rear fitment? Are they cast alloy? If so I'd assume a 19x9 or 19x10 would weigh something around 27-30 pounds (correct me if I'm wrong). Are they offset specific for the 3 series or do we have to run spacers? Those prices are nice and cheap but most of us wouldn't want to be lugging around 30 pound wheels and make our cars slower than stock.

Here is a link to our website for these wheels: http://www.velocitymotoring.com/links/wheels-vb3.htm
The sizes and weights are listed, HOWEVER it does not show that we do have a +30 offset available for 19x9.5, created specifically for the E90/E92 Running a 19x8.5 +40 up front, and a 19x9.5 +30 in the rears, no spacers would be required for E90/E92's. As far as weight is concerned, have you weighed your OEM wheels, as well as the RFTs? In many cases even upgrading to a larger wheel (ie 18 or 19"), and switching to non-RFT's the total weight can be pretty close to what was on the car stock. When thinking about unsprung weight and wheel weights, its also important to consider the weight of the tire. Getting a specific wheel to save a few pounds won't do any good if you don't look to save weight on the tires as well. RFT's are notoriously heavy due to the reinforced sidewall required to keep the car drivable when "flat." Switching to a non-RFT you will save a few pounds (among other benefits) because the sidewall no longer needs such strong reinforcement. I can't seem to find the exact numbers, but the non-forged OEM BMW wheels aren't exactly light... EDIT: I found a pic of a oem wheel + tire in this thread; http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74346 As an example, even though they are out of stock, general exclaim uhp's are 24 lbs for 235/35/19, and 23 lbs for a 265/30/19. With 19" CSL's and generals, you are rolling on a lighter wheel and tire combo than stock

Good Lord. 27.5 lbs. That is damn heavy for 19 x 9.5 brother. Why so heavy? What about the 2 piece wheels, are they heavier, lighter, or same? BTW, I know stock wheel+tire is heavy as hell, in no way am I or most of ppl here trying to use stock weight as a standard when purchasing upgrade wheels+tires. Keyword "upgrade" meaning lighter, bigger, better looking. These wheels look nice, I give you that.

Well, switching from a stock set up to our above wheels will yield you a lighter, bigger, and better looking setup.
~27lbs for a cast 19x9.5 wheel is pretty much on par with other large wheels out there.

As mentioned we'll have more silvers in stock very shortly. The Hyperblack I hope everyone realizes is not really that dark of black but still a noticeable silver. It does play chameleon once in the shade that is for sure. Guys if you need either silver or hyperblack wheels & tire packages don’t hesitate to let us know, you can pm or email us.
