US Car in Canada - warranties/recalls

How will having a US 335i in Canada affect me in terms of my extended warranty's with the HPFP and the Wastegate rattle/turbo warranty.

Would a Canadian dealer honour the HPFP issue in Canada on a US car?

What about for wastegate rattle/turbo replacement?

Thank you!

Oh they did it for you without any issues? What about wastegate and turbo replacement issues?

No issue at all. I guess as long as your car is still under warranty, they'll fix it just like any canadian car.

You have to pay the $500 Recall letter fee if you want a shot of them replacing anything. Why? Because they want your money. Yes, BMW can look up your vehicle history in 20 seconds, but they claim you need to pay the $500 for them to do it.

I imported my car 2 months ago. I was able to register the car with the DMV with the Vehicle Warranty Inquiry and not pay the $500 to BMW for the recall letter. When I called BMW to talk about an extended warranty, they said I would still need to pay the $500 for the recall letter and then I would also have to pay for them to inspect the car (Around $200) if I wanted to buy the extended warranty (which was not even a BMW warranty, but a 3'rd party warranty).

Your gonna get screwed either way my man. I choose not to follow through with it. I figured $500 + $200 + 3000 (maybe more) for the 3'rd party warranty is almost $4000.

When my turbo's go, i can have them swapped out for upgraded stage 1's for way less than that. Saying that, BMW has to replace the HPFP because they had a recall on that item.
