345M - for sure it's not forged. The front is made by BBS (Germany) and they are flow formed cast weighs in around 25 lb. The rear is made by Cromodora (Italy) and not sure what they are ? (but most likely it's low pressure cast).

The front and rears are made by different companies??

Yes. Even the inner barrel finish is different.

BBS - entire wheel is clear coated.
Cromodora - facing is clear coated. Inner barrel is NOT.

I orig. ordered the stock setting and when I saw the rear finishes are different from the front, I told my dealer to re-order mine with 2 more front (BBS).

But then I ran into issue for the fitment for the rear. I had to get the wheel shop to shave/grind off a bit of the rear caliper in order to make it fit. I had posted this under "Winter wheels thread". Therefore, be careful with 345M ordering. If you want NO issue at all, you will have no choice but to order the exact BMW spec 19" set. That is 19 *9 front & 19 *10 rear.

Why not just add a spacer instead of grind away the caliper?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

+1

Ideal solution. Makes the offset look perfect and you can rotate wheels every year to increase tire life without mounting/balancing.

This certainly wouldn't be the first mistake in advertising from BMW, but in both the tech specs section and in the standard features section of the online listings they refer to the 345M 19" wheels as forged....?

I believe only the 19" 344M and 20" 343" are forged.

the wheel shop owner offered me two solutions. One being to grind off just enough the metal bracket rear caliper (the affected area will be repainted to best match the oem color) and the other is spacers. Since he did not have the necessary spacers in the shop at the time, I had to make a quick decision and the result was such that.

Right now with about 800km since the install, I have no issue with the rears.
