Tag Heuer Series 2000 Super Chrono
Here's a chance to own some real Horological class without spending thousands!
For sale is my Tag Heuer Series 2000 Super Diver's Chrono. My criteria for a good watch is the quality of the movement and this particular watch uses a Lemania LWO 283. The Lemania 283 movement has the following technical specifications;- Friction Protection: 40 Jewels, Power reserve: 42 hours. Because the base ETA 2892 movement (which is recognised for it's accuracy and durability), operating at 28,800 pulsations/hour is using a Glucodur quality balance and a Nivarox #1 Hairspring the end result is one of the most reliable automatic movements on the market. One of the unusual things about the Lemania movement is that the date optic is part of the movement. It magnifies the date without the need for an unsightly bulge on the crystal or the distortion of the underside crystal optics. The 40 jewel Lemania 283 is based on an ETA 2892 'tractor' with a Dubois Depraz Chronograph module which was developed for Audemars Piguet. According to various internet sites, the same Lemania movement is used in chronographs like the Girard Perregaux 280 and the Paul Picot Chrono.. The Dubois Depraz chrono module is used in the Audermars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore and Glashutte Chronograph. Obviously to acquire those models you would need to spend anywhere from £5000 to £15,000. The ETA 2892 is used in a wide array of high-end Swiss chronometers....do a search, you'll be surprised The way to recognize an LWO 283 is by the inbuilt date cyclops and the fact that the chrono pushers are on a different plane than the winder. If you'd like to know a lot more about the base ETA 2892 movement, here's a nice article by an expert watchmaker http://www.chronometrie.com/eta2892/eta2892.html The watch also features: Stainless steel case, water resistant to 200M Steel bracelet with diver's extention (shown open in picture#3) Scratch resistant sapphire crystal Unidirectional Bezel Luminous hands and baguet style markers Quick-set date function As a fully paid-up anal retentive, the watch is in perfect working order...it was last serviced by TAG Heuer in 2004....cleaned, lubricated, resealed and has been rarely worn since....but has been properly stored to prevent migration of the lubricant (if the watch sits in the same position too long the oil 'settles'). No box or papers but service receipts available. In addition to the SS bracelet, the watch comes with 3 genuine TH leather straps so you can change the look when you fancy something less 'functional' and more 'dressy'. The photos are all close up so you can judge the level of wear and tear, which is really not too bad considering the watch has never been 'restored'. The main wear is to the paint on the bezel markers. This is a chance to own a classic swiss automatic chronograph for less than quartz money. The watch may be inspected before purchase, based in the N.E. near Stockton-on-Tees. Price £480.00 ovno The watch may be collected or shipped Royal Mail tracked & insured (shipping not included). |

Xmas is coming
Sure there's no interest? The staps alone would cost around £330.00 to replace.
