I can't imagine it gets any worse. I bought 325 in 3/06 for $36k, and KBB shows only $25k now ohh well, that is the price to pay to get a new car smell

Not enough info. If you pay a high price for a used car, then of course you get hit with depreciation. If you get a great deal, then you will have little depreciation. Bimmers hold their value well.

Example: I bought my 335 new for $36.5k in 9/06. I would be able to sell it for close to that now. My old 1999 323 sold for about 40% of its original price 7 years after I bought it. That is very good. Lease rates indicate high resale on bimmers.

any worse? The depreciation on the car is better than 80% of the other cars in the world.

I just checked Autotrader and there are tons for sale and the lowest price listed is $23k with most around the $30k mark. $20k almost seems to good to be true. Is this a coupe or sedan?

KBB is just a tool for dealers to lowball you on a trade in.

If the OP can get a 2006 325 in good shape with reasonable miles for 20k then I think he will have low depreciation.

Well, considering that the OP has made comments like these:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77493

I wouldn't put too much stock in what he says.

I have a Mercedes-Benz E550 special edition.

As I left the toll booth this guy with a mint condition 3-series gave me a look like he wanted to race..pointing his head towards the turnpike.. so I tried...he ran up his car to 80 MPH and got infront of me.looking periodically back in to his mirrors..thinking he's winning..hahaha

he's now like a good 500 meters away ..now half a mile away ..and I'm like I better show up this fool otherwise he'll never know what MB is ...

starting gunning it ..now i m donig 90...100..110..125 as I pass him on the right..he's mouth is agap ..turning his head as my car is passing him at 130 MPH..... he's holding his steering wheel tightly.

My Car no vibration still gunnnin at 130. He's looks like he's reached the maximum speed that he can go with him safetly driving it. Must be alot of vibration.

Well I had to rub it in. MB is better.
Hey joey, what happened to the Mercedes-Benz E550 special edition you f-ing troll.

The depreciation is supposed to be well above avg., but in an absolute way it is steep. I figure 8600 (that number has always stuck in my mind--certainly it can't be as horrendous as edmunds shows it, @ $9,682 in yr. 1) as soon as you drive a 335 coupe off the lot. A Honda Accord not only is 1/2 of that, but it beats BMW %-wise too. But the way I look at it, depreciation is only if you sell it. If you keep it, over time, you can make it almost negligible (8-10 years).

I think it may be best for Joey to enter the witness protection program and change his name on this forum...or else the next time he stops to pay a toll:
