Help from NYC members
Hi,
My wife and I are going to NYC (we are from Montreal) this weekend for our 5th year wedding anniversary and need some suggestions. We are looking for _THE BEST_ restaurants for Friday and Saturday night. Something that combines excellent food and excellent ambiance (I know, tough to find some times). French/med/fusion etc is great. We are staying at the Sofitel in Manhattan but are open in going out to soho/tribeca/chelsea/etc Also any lounge suggestions for after dinner? My wife and are are 30 and 32 respectively, so something pretty chill/upscale. Thanks in advance |

Hey man, I just came back from Montreal! Stayed @ the Novotel on Rue de Montagne. EXCELLENT city!!
Anyway here are my 2 favorite places in the city: SoHo - Cafe Novecento - A MUST!!! www.bistronovecento.com West Side/Theatre District -Swizz NYC- INSANE Fondue/Swiss food - www.1291swizz.com Also go to www.menupages.com and search there, very knowledgebal site. As far as lounges, they are scattered all around the city. Primarily on West 27th Street between 10th & 11th Avenues. Also Nikki Beach on the Upper East Side is OK too. Just search. Have a great stay and happy anniversary!! P.S. To the guy who said Asia de Cuba - please stay in Jersey. There can not be anymore of a bridge and tunnel spot than that (well maybe China Grill, but its the same management and located in Times Square - go figure lol) and the food is terrible and overpriced. -Dmitriy |

Most of that west side on 27th street is "bridge and tunnel". Nikki Beach? Its a club that did well for the wild party life in South Beach and now they are hoping would do the same here. I'm not sure if thats what the OP is looking for.

Best way to do NY is to drive. Too bad for the long border wait. The symbol for the 5th wedding anniversary is "WOOD" don't have bark now for supper! : ) Happy anniversary to you MontrealM3, only 50 more to go.
