Fujita ram air intake for E90 (w/ dyno)

Saw this Fujita ram air intake at http://www.f5air.com/index2.html

Was wondering if these torque figures on the dyno graph seem legit. They tested this on a 330i.

That impossible. Why the hell is the WHP/WTQ worse then it is on my stock 325i??

Even a 325i Automatic will produce higher numbers then that.

Something is really fishy with that dyno graph.

Why is it that the the intake makes the engine choke at 6600rpm, and drops by 10hp compared to stock? That just does NOT make sense.

What the graph states, is that the maximum power at any rpm is 183whp, and 162wtq stock.

Which is basically impossible. BMW has a very conservative driveline loss, meaning that at a loss of 10% (similar to my car, and any other dynod bmw.)

258 - 10% = 233whp is what he should of gotten, proabably around the 240whp mark though.

There is something very messed up with this dyno, most likely the ebrake being up or something.

Ok, I just checked his stats, and he has a automatic.

I cant picture the automatic having such a severe driveline loss, but the graph is a little more believable, still weird though.

30% Driveline loss is very poor, I am sure that the intake would preform so much better on a 6spd.

Gee, Really? whp stands for WHEEL HORSE POWER, explain to me why my vehicle dyno'd on a VERY reputable shops dyno at 201whp, and your car dyno'd a 182whp

mine being a 6spd 325, and yours being a auto 330

These vehicles should be equal in power put down to the wheels.

That is about the shittiest designed intake I have seen (well, using Home Depot Perfomance parts could be worse) All that is going to do is take in hot engine bay air. Unlike the E46 or E36, the front end of the E90 is COMPLETELY sealed. The only intake tract is the duct where the stock box feeds from.

You are correct, there is a +- 3% variation on dyno's in the same humidity/temperature area.

However this is MUCH more then 3%. someone messed up on this dyno, and the design of the intake is brutal.

there is way more then 3%. i can see up to 15% difference on different dynos. i think theres like 5+ types and brands of dyno.

i dyno'd my bike twice. once i got 103hp and my 2nd time on a different type of dyno i got 115hp

No there isnt more the 3% if the dyno is calibrated as it should be on a daily basis. Bike dynos are completely different monsters, and still wouldnt change more then 3%, the reason you got different numbers is because of different temp, and humidty, or your bike was just running differently.

You cant state inaccuracy unless you have a controlled environment comparing two dynos at the same time with the same vehicle.

I have had a 330 E46 and now a 325 E90, and stock to stock, the 330 is slightly faster at best, The E90 has a higher redline and a shofter differential, which makes up for any power deficit and increase in weight, so they are very very close.

Saw this few days ago.

At least it gained some power thats good news. Low-end is improved
ALOT, midrange gained some power too. Don't quite understand why
it lost power up top. sucking up hot air, who knows. That setup looks
like it can be done at home with intake intake tubing and K&N filter.
Honestly, it looks like crap. It could use a heatshield also.

Bad news is, 184whp/162wtq? Even its auto, drivetrain loss can't be that much.

This isn't some piece of sh1t honda accord 4spd automatic transmission,
this is BMW's steptronic 6spd transmission. what the hell is that result?
Honestly, if that graph is somewhat true, I am getting rid of this car pretty damn soon.

I just hope the graph isn't real. 184whp/162wtq, 3500 pounds and
auto tranny will NOT get into high 14s in 1/4mile(magazines proved 330i auto hitting mid-high 14s).
