door handle stuck out?? Service bulletin!!
I know this has been discussed before, but now its a service bulletin per what a service advisor told me today. I had my car at the dealer and mentioned the driver's door handle gets stuck out at times. The advisor told me... yes its a known issue and that there is a bulletin regarding this. They ordered new parts for all four handles.

mine started to stick a little bit not long ago... I just put a bit of lithium grease on there and they were perfect again. I don't see the point of going through the pain of getting them replaced if all you need to do is put some grease on their once every 1.5 years.

My dealer actually suggested me to change out all the door handles for the new and improved version.
The 'new' version replaces some wooden part in the handle with a metallic part that eliminates the sticking issue. (Wood expands when wet) Not sure if this is true but that's what the dealer told me. |

I don't know exactly as well but... it's mighty 'creative' of them to think of such an answer if this wasn't the actual case. And the 'explanation' is reasonable if there in fact is a material inside the door handle that expands when wet.

must be an e90 thing, never had a problem with my e92, although i have noticed that the door handles do feel pretty cheap and flimsy. they remind me of a sliding cell phone.
