Waiting lists for production

How are the waiting times in your areas ?

I spoke to my dealer here today and for a custom ordered 330i ,if you order now you have to wait untill December, on a 320i you have too wait till August ( they get many more 320i allocations)

e90fleet which dealer are you going to? When I was shopping for a 325 I was told september (1 week ago) in midrand, and December at hyde park. For a 320d midrand told me they have in stock and i custom ordered one from hyde park for August. I don't have my money yet so aug suits me perfectly. Shop around, the different dealers have different things.

Also at dealers (like midrand) who aren't demanding a R5000 deposit, alot of people just aren't taking the cars, which makes the wait considerably shorter (or you could even just take someone elses "not taken" order)?

Hi Broken1

Im waiting too see the new sports bumpers first, so was just asking them for interest sake. You are currect that one may find a cancelled order, but the chances of finding one the exact spec one wants isnt always good, unless you can get a cancelled slot which you can still change the spec on

I went to Club Motors Randburg

Not true !!

I finalised the order of my 320 on Monday ( 23rd ).
It's a custom order , and they told me I'd get it towards the end of June.

I only had to pay a R3000 deposit. The dealer I went to is Leo Haese BMW in Centurion.

BTW, I'm getting :

320i / Manual / Arctic / Black leather / Titanium / Sunroof / Lights Package

8 weeks at most for me. I ordered it Apr 30. USA, NYC. Mine been built as of mid of last week and it is waiting for transport boat. So it is kinda on schedule. It takes about 4 weeks to cross the ocean and have the dealer prep it.

I think the USA get first priority and the best of all the cars that goes to the USA gets manufactured in South Africa.

Correction, according to the tracking number the car is on the boat.

I have order my bmw and told the salesman i refuse to give him a R5000 deposit. He accepted it like that and still orderd mine. I said to him if he does not trust me i will take my business elsewhere. Does the people in the USA have to give a deposit when they order there BMW.

Yup, it has to be 500 dollar deposit. Rest is due the day you pick up the car.

The VIN will tell you where it was (is being) made. Country and city. Google "bmw vin plant" for all you EVER wanted to know.

Here's something E90Fleet posted a while back. This will tell you where your car was made.

According to BMW SA, the 325i US Spec will be built in the Rosslyn plant from September this year. I don't know exactly how that would work on ED.

Not necessarily. They might ask, but you don't have to give one, and they will usually still do your order for you without a deposit. It depends and the sales person and dealership.
