extended warranty? should I get it??

Thinking about getting the extended warranty 6 yr 100K for $1195.
Do I need to pay tax on it? Is it worth it? Does it cover everything? Any fine print? What doesn't it NOT cover? (labor, parts, etc)?

I'm going in tomorrow to pick up my xi and would love the input.

Thinking about keeping it for around 6+ years.

you dont have to buy it now, you can buy it later. as long as the factory warranty doesnt expire, you can buy it anytime. i dont recommend the car warranty, but buy the maintence extended warranty.

2 distinct warranties here

maintenance (wear items included, tough luck if something breaks though)

std type warranty (no wear items included or maint. but covers broken stuff)

any warranty they sell you has been carefully researched and they sell them at a price that makes them money, lots of people don't keep the cars past warranty period anyways

Once my warranty expires, I will send my E90 to my trusted mechanic for service. He's been servicing my family's cars for the past decade.
