BMW N54 335 PRESSURE CONVERTER/ Turbo Solenoid
Thanks for the help in advance-
I have an 07 335 and my oil catch can contributed in breaking my very brittle pressure converter/ Turbo boost solenoid. I want to replace them both while im doing the job, where can i purchase these? Other than the dealer which is my last resort. "also from my search tischer used to have them for 91 a piece but i cant find them" Also i used to do alot of work on e36 bmw's and they have a similar EMISSIONS VACUUM ELECTRONIC VALVE EGR. would this work as a temporary replacement since i have a few laying around? "but i would prefer to keep it oem" link to e36 solenoid art 11741742712 (ELECTR.VALVE) |

My pressure converter/ turbo boost solenoid broke. Im looking for a replacement, I called the dealer they quoted 210 per solenoid. Are there any online sites that sell them?
and the e36 sensor looked similar with the e90 sensor, i was wondering if they could be swapped since its just a vacuum sensor. |

If you're talking about the 2 pressure converter valves that mount on the passenger side of the valve cover, your e36 parts won't work. Get a set of 2 updated valves from someone like tischer.
Fwiw, most of the valves I test on older 335i models leak. Even if you aren't experiencing any symptoms, it's a good idea to test them. Both of mine were leaking at 24k miles -- one badly. There is a reason BMW has revised this part several times.

Yep..... the new style also look physically different, so it's easy to identify the changes. The older style are prone to leaking. I think anyone with an earlier car should at least test theirs to see if they hold vacuum as they should on the intake side.

Thanks
Sorry for the delayed response, I appreciate your guys quick responses and information. Love this forum
I initially noticed low boost symptoms and then it gradually got worse, i check all the vacuum lines and finally noticed the little tube portion was cracked which i think was caused by the placement of my oil catch can. Once again thanks for the help! |

I guess this is related and could not see the point of starting a new thread.
Suspect my pressure converter/solenoids are leaking or not holding vac. Pulled the lines off of the vacuum tank, 1 tank i got a whoosh as the air was sucked in the 2nd one nothing. I assume this means one is screwed?
