NBT Retrofit kit

Does anyone know what's needed as far as hardware for NBT? Looks like Bimmerretrofit is selling this kit for $1899.99 but it includes a new screen, controller and head unit.

If I could just obtain the head unit and use my exisiting screen and controller, would this work?

I am not convinced that Bimmertech's NAV retrofit is the new NBT NAV.

The product description specifically states CIC, which makes it the old Nav.

Does anyone know if the retrofit guys will do all the oem activation coding if you supply your own unit? It just seems they charge a ridiculous premium for second hand gear. There have been a few ads for the equipment on eBay for quite a bit less. I am happy to pay just not be extorted lol

I looked into doing all this before and it may not be as simple as just plug and play + coding. I think Bimmeretrofit made their own plug and play adapter so that the wiring would be compatible and even if you get the coding done, you will also need FSC activation for the navigation and voice control which is about another $1000. They also have a hardware activation module for the Nav and Voice control which is a bit cheaper but in the end, you'll still need to source out a lot of other things even if you have the NBT head unit.
