postponing E90 ownership.
I had been looking for a used e90 but have since opted to take my car search a different direction for now, and postpone my BMW ownership until I can either afford a new one, or am in a little bit better position.
I wanted to thank all of you for the advice and feedback you've given me along the way and commend you for generally being a cool ass bunch of people amongst a lot of douche' bags on the internet. Here are a few parting shots of my new ride. Flame if you must... thus far I am enjoying it and I think it will serve me well until I can step-up in to a bimmer. No.flaming here either. My decision was between your car an an e90. And I regret not taking the new car. The gli feels great driving. Only criticism I have is the interior is not sophisticated

The interior is not bad at all for my tastes... not as nice a BMW but a clear, clear upgrade from my stock 2010 AT Jetta, and obviously much more fun to drive.
the autobahn w/ nav package is nice as far as the tech, and the fender stereo and kessy keyless entry are solid so far as well. I like the stock wheels so the first mod will probably be coilovers to drop the ride height just a bit. After that, I'll have to decide which way I want to go in terms of performance mods. |

Vw makes a great, fun-to-drive car. That 2.0T is very mod friendly. If it wasn't for the availability of the N54 in the 335is I ordered, I'd probably be waiting for the lease on my N55 335i to expire so I could get a Golf R or a TTS.

I've been reading up on vwvortex and there seems to be plenty of mods available.
I just need to decide if I am going to keep in relatively mild, or put away for the bigger turbo which will be a bit more involved... although I must admit 300hp/300 ft pds of torque out of this motor is very tempting. |

It is tinted, the dealer tinted the day of delivery, maybe it's a Texas thing. I plan to get some coil overs to drop the ride height a bit, just want to save and get quality parts so the ride and handling are not negatively impacted. |

Nice car! I just sold my GTI with apr tune stage 2 and got a 335i. I was considering GLI but I couldn't stand fwd, especially when u making serious power. My car was making ~270hp but I could spin my tires through 3rd gear due to the crazy torque. But it's a reliable car and handling is pretty good. Have fun!

Again, thanks for all the kind words everyone. The car is really a blast to drive and it feels pretty quick despite the huge disparity in horsepower between it and the e90, which I did test drive several weeks back, mind you he e90 was an AT.

Great alternative to an e90 IMO. looks beautiful!
I previously had a mkv gti, and it is easily one of, if not the best car I have owned. Very mod friendly, engine is bullet proof if you take care of it, and interior space is so versatile. I drove it like I stole it for five years and im convinced it loved every second |
