Doing everything following directions and have proper buckets and towels. It's very clean but superficial holograms are there. The car is extremely clean and shiny otherwise. I'm impressed. What am i doing wrong. Thanks for any advice.

Holograms are usually caused by using wool pads and/or poor machine polishing technique. Are you sure they weren't there prior?
My car had holograms from the dealer (or the factory). I had them polished out prior to having my car Opti-Coated |

I agree with the above poster patriwth
Either the dealer improperly buffed it (most likely the case) and their glaze has worn off to show the true condition of the paint....or when you do a two bucket wash, do you also use grit-guard? Kane me PM

Keep in mind light wash marring can look just like holograms in some lighting. Something you'll have long, very fine marring towards the bottoms of doors that look like a weird hazy hologram kind of deal... it's generally from your drying process.
Out of curiosity - what are you using to dry? |

It's a meguiars 3 pack of large ultra soft microfiber towels. They are tan. I think in the past I might have dried a bit rough one day. Took the flex buffer out of the shed. Got a job to do.

Well the guys above could be right - could be holo's appearing as glaze wears off....but if I had to guess I would say you'll get it under the lights and you'll see a lot of very long, uniform, very light sets of marring, most particularly towards the bottom of the car (where we naturally put more pressure on towels as we dry). Luckily, it sounds like it'll be easy to remove.
