GMAX AS-03 Tires
Hi,
Wanted to know if anyone here has tried the GMAX AS-03 tires and how the experience has been. I'm thinking of going AS versus Hankooks so I can keep them on the longer given the unexpected Canadian weather. Reviews on tireracks and other forums are pretty positive. Let me know! thanks! |

I have them and love them. Im running 225-45-18 upf front and 255-35-18 in tehe rear on style 189 rims. I put about 10K on them and they handle very well dry or wet. I even used them late into December of last year with low temps in Chicago. Two years ago I drove through Florida downpours and never hydroplaned even at highway speeds. Great tire for the money

I think they're a great tire for the money. I bought them so I could drive my car further into winter up here, and I've been very happy with them. Bit of a trade off in dry handling compared to a summer tire, but I would definitely do it again.

This tire has been pretty popular among our customers, in addition to the DWS.

I've heard they're not quite as quiet as say the Continental DWS, but not to the point where people have to replace them like that. I've had some pretty loud tires in my days of driving too.

I liked the performance of the G-max but the noise was unbearable...and they started being noisy at around 10k and just got worse. They literally howled at 45 mph plus. Maybe it was just a characteristic of that particular odd size but I'm not willing to take that chance on them again. |

The AS-03 are very good tires. I feel almost invincible when it rains and handles very well. My only complaint is the tread noise (not that bad since i always play music) and it feels a bit disconnected with the road. Meaning you're always adjusting the steering wheel to keep the car going straight.
