New Fogs in a E92is vs Old E90 Fog Lights

What do you think about my NEW fog lights? I installed fog lights in my 2012 E92 335is. Since my coupe doesn't have them but a E93 dose, I wanted a set.
I installed a set of PIAA fog lights in the front air brake cooling vent. The lights are round and small and are totally recessed in the vent opening. I connected them to the rear fog light dash switch since they (rears) are on the car but not the front fogs. I did hunt for the front fog wire but struck-out. So the front fogs come on when turn on the rear ones. Total cost, under $75.
I am pleased w/ the results.

Well you see, it's more like, I need them at times. In the fall and the spring we get some really foggy morning and nights. Schools at times open 2 hours late because of the heavy fog. I am very close to the Chesapeake Bay, and when the warm air from the bay mixes w/ the cold air f/ the west or north, we get socked in w/ heavy fog. So, yes I wanted them, AND needed the fog lights. I wish they were standard like they are on the E93 335is. I don't understand why but that is how it goes.
Thanks for posting, and have a great day.

Hey Dave,

I like the cleaner look without the fog lights but that's just me.

If I recall correctly, BMW said they put fog lights on the E93 335is because it was less likely to see track duty. Whereas the coupe would, and would benefit from the additional brake cooling. I have them on my E93 335is and honestly have never used them. To me they clash with the LED rings and the xenons. Your install looks clean though!

I don't know the 'is' cars very well, but wouldn't the fogs and housing from an E93 'is' fit the E92 'is' bumper?

No they are used for additional air engine cooling.

No they are used for additional air engine cooling.
That is what I don't understand E93 fog lights, E92 no fog lights.
If you look at the pic in my signature you see an E93 w/ the top up, and fog lights. Go figure.

The only additional brake cooling comes from the vent opening I put the fog lights in.
