Saturday Driving Time

An unplanned excursion into the mountains was a real delight today. Found a new road that was so twisty 3rd seemed high in places (no pics of that - too busy driving then, see topographic map below).

Looks like you are rolling around just south of my old neighborhood. I'm originally from Stuarts Draft, near Staunton VA. Used to hang out on those back roads near Vesuvius and the Blue Ridge all the time. Beautiful car and nice photos by the way, miss that tunnel too lol!

I like the one that says "Sudden Curve Ahead" with Evel Knievel jumping over a rainbow

Comparisons with Austria are not deserved by these Appalachian places! hehehe When it's time for the 4 series I will have euro delivery for sure!!! Promise.

Mr Cliffhanger is very popular there on his road sign! Interesting to point out that the sign doesn't actually say "not" to do anything, it simply states the facts and then shows someone standing on a motorcycle flying through the air over some kind of rainbow... : )

Well, if you were gonna go all that way, I would say take 64 to Stuarts Draft, then find "Cold Springs Rd" which is very rural, rough textured but well paved, and low traffic. Then turn back via 56 (the serious road) and then take the parkway back north, onward through Skyline Drive and home.

261mi round trip for me, if it wasn't snowing I would've gone, lol. It seems like a fun road to drive along. Thanks.
