Different sized rear tires from dealer- WTF

Ive had my 335 for about a month and have been loving the car..Today i realized that i had two different sized tires on my Rear end. I have oem 162's with run flats. One side is 245/35/18 and the other is 255/35/18, Im assuming this is bad for the drivetrain? I do have the warranty for the runflats, im hoping the dealer (beverly hills BMW) doesn't give me any hassle to fix this problem.

Any ideas? Seems like they shouldn't sell a car in this state. Its a 2008 CPO, under warranty till 100k.

Thanks for the insight!

They shouldn't sell it like that and they should fix that for you.

If they sold it like that it's up to them to fix it.

That doesn't sound like a staggered size to me. My summers are staggered and wider in the back than the front, and that's perfectly fine, but this doesn't seem like that case.

That's careless....tell them to replace all four so the tread wear is even.

If they CPO'd the car like that then if they don't fix it go to BMWUSA.

have you checked the front tires?

i'm sure you have, but it's worth mentioning

once when i was having my winter wheels put back on, they put two 255s on the drivers side and two 235s on the passenger side

i can see it happening often

if not, definitely bring it back to the dealer

lol wtf you've been driving around for a month with each side in the rear sporting a different sized tire? I would go back to that dealer and tear them a new a**hole.

Just to be safe dude you should check over everything else, because this is worrying. Make sure they didn't pour engine oil into the wiper fluid reservoir or something like that damn stealerships lmao if they're not ripping us off they're f***ing up our cars amirite.

This. Tires are on the Cpo "checklist" they are suppose to be checking but its probably just pencil whipped.

They shouldn't sell a car like, let alone a CPO car.

Thanks for all replies guys. Im going to get in contact with the dealer tomorrow. Of course i realize this right after i installed my JB4. Now i have to take it all off to bring in (dont want to risk it).

Do you think i should take off my wheel spacers too? Any reason that would void warranty?

That sucks...makes you wonder if they are one of those dealers that slap a 'CPO' tag on a car juts so they can increase the price $2-3K.

Return it to stock.
If you keep the spacers on it's possible they could be dicks and say you replaced the tire yourself.

Better safe than sorry.

Remove the spacers and inform them of the mismatched tires.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the potential damage to the differential different size diameter rear tires can cause. I would definitely fix this asap OP
