Yesterday got the PE installed on my 09 328xi Sounds much better than stock specially on higher RPMs
though there are many videos out there created a small stock vs PE.

EDIT : Thanks to ACM for the install

Goddamn it. I'm so jelly. I want one so bad but don't want to pony up all that cash just for the sound lol. Still though, I just wanna rip the audio off that vid and listen to it looped on my ipod all day. But congrats man! Is that broken in already? Or did you buy it brand new.

^^^ yup, even I was thinking the same way a few months back, 1K just for the sound ??
But trust me man its totally worth the money. The first cold start today made me grin ear to ear and I am sure it will happen everyday.

Its brand new.Have heard the sounds getter better as the exhaust ages.

Congrats! I have my PE installed for almost 5 months now.
And I am still loving it, especially cold start.
I got pulled over once and the cop asked me where did I get my exhaust.
I told him it's oem and I got it from the dealer, he looks surprised, I think he was going to give me a ticket for loud exhaust lol

Lies lol. The PE is quoted to add "up to 5hp at 6600 rpm and 3 lb-ft of torque". Unless that 20bhp translates to the 5(w)hp that's advertised lol.

Didn't mean it to come out that way. It says online its only a 5hp which would explain why your not feeling anything different. You need to get the Performance intake now for even better sound! God I want a PE. You should do the dual side conversion with it.

yes, 5hp isn't notable , and i have auto , wish i had opted for MT :P
planning to go to bear mountains sometime soon will drive in manual hope to see some gains
any ways , if i needed power i wld have opted for 335, but Performance intake is in the list soon after KW v1's.

Actually there is not much difference sound-wise, it's still very aggressive, not sure how to describe it, the exhaust sounds more unobstructed?
Trust me, you will continue to love it for the time you own it, well worth the money!
lol I was playing with the manual mode with my auto, shifting @3500-4k rpm, that might be the reason I got the cop's attention
Here's a video I made when I first got my PE:

Just want to share my sound with you guys. PE is definitely a good buy. I was lucky to pick up a 2nd hand one, all run-ed in and sounds loud as hell. Just wondering tho, my tips are different from the standard PE exhausts now... but there's a BMW stamp on it.

Sounds and looks great, but I'm guessing that's not a genuine BMW PE system. The tips deffo aren't and the sound, though excellent, is not the usual PE noise.

Oh beautiful sound!

If you're debating whether to get a BMW PE, stop thinking about it and just get one; it will pay for itself first time you start the car after getting it installed. If anything you'll be upset at yourself for not doing it sooner.

BMW PE is not an uncommon item in the classified section:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=183
Turbo - http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=177

And if you are BMW CCA member, you can get a discount on a new one through a dealer.
