Suggestions on 18" rims that look "big"
Living in Edmonton in all of its pot hole glory, 18" is about the biggest size of rim I'd like to go with. I've noticed that some 18's look "small-ish" on the e90. Can anyone recommend some rims that look "bigger"? I'm wondering if having a wide lip actually makes the rim appear slightly smaller?

IMHO, the CSL wheels seem to look the biggest because the spokes come out to the perimeter of the rim and they are not dished in. This makes them appear bigger. The lip does make the wheel look smaller. Just compare pictures of the VM715 (with lip 0 to the CSLs. CSLs look bigger even though tey are the same size.Check out pictures here: https://st15.flashecom.com/modbargai...vergallery.htm

Yep, an 18 with no lip will work. Or it can have a lip, just the spokes need to span the whole diameter.

+1 on staying away from wheels with lips...they generally look smaller than no-lip designs.
However more importantly...stay away from black or dark coloured wheels. They always look one inch smaller than they actually are...so 18" black wheels will look like 17". This is why guys who have 20" black DPE or iForged rims look perfect on the E9x....they look like 19". |

If you want a big look, stay away from any wheel with a lip. I have the stock 18 inch 162's, but they look just as big as many of popular 19 inch wheels with a lip.
If you want to go aftermarket, go with the CSL, M5, or M6 replicas.

Take a look at Breyton as well...heavy wheel...but very nice looking multi-spoke designs. Probably could take a good beating on pot holed roads. |

Definitely go with wheel w/o a lip to get the larger appearance.
CSL's do give you the larger look, even if they are 18's. Let me see if I can dig up some pics of 18" on E90.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I too was leaning towards the M6 reps. For the price I don't think they can be beat.
I found this link of pics with 18" M6 reps that look terrific: http://users.skynet.be/fa106787/gallerie3winter.htm

Anything without a lip will look good.
CSL or M6 reps will do the job the best. Let me know if you are intersted in any of those wheels. thanks. -Don |

For our M6 wheels, we include them for free, for the CSL ones, it is an additional $20 dollars for a set of four.
I know, it is confusing, but that's just how our suppliers for each wheel gives it to us for. (The BMW roundels for M6 wheels won't fit on CSL, and vice versa) -Don |
