installing jb4 in md *need help on re-install

The online instructions seem simple but i haven't checked out youtube... but I will be installing jb4 today. Any important FYI's i need to know about that could really mess something up? I'd like to do some runs as well. If anyone wants to assist let me know.

man, if I still lived in Rockville I'd definitely help you out (in person)....

the biggest issue people have is with the grey and black "blocks" that slide in place with the DME harnesses. Make sure the arrows are pointed in the correct direction.

Also, look up the USB connection DIY to run the USB cable into the glove box for datalogging on a laptop.

Enjoy the new tune, you'll never want to drive your car without it!

I would recommend spending the 30 extra minutes to remove the DME and route the USB cable through the firewall into the glove compartment for easy laptop access.

Also, put new plugs in, unless you have less than 25k or they have been replaced recently

However I've encountered one slight problem after the install.. the stupid HVAC filter will not sit flush on the cowl therefore i was not able to securely screw it in. I've tried taking the cowl off an placing the HVAC housing thingy on it and it works, but when i put the cowl on... it doesnt want to fit. Perhaps i was just tired and it was 10pm...but its not on correctly... Anyone wanna help? I'll drive to you..

Sidenote ran map 5 this morning on my way to work and sweet baby jesus!

The filter slides into a "slot" make sure its in that slot and everything will fit.

Also remember Map 5 needs 3 "adaptation" 3rd gear WOT pulls ~2500-6500 rpm

today.. i was cruising in 6th and went WOT and the car went into limp mode as i was on the hwy at like 70mph. i exited the off ramp coasting and the car was fine at the light... i continued on my way to work. Scared the crap out of me, it was like hitting the governor or something. no CEL or other codes yet.

Sounds like it is most likely a misfire. Check the codes. Did you ever get your cowl problem figured out?
