E93 vert heated sceen question!

Hi

Has any E93 owners used their heated rear sceen yet - just that i used mine the other week and the top 5 elements do not work. Only the lower 3/4 of the screen clears.

The dealer has told me this is normal?? Surely if the lines are there, why would they not operate??

Can anyone confirm if the dealer is correct or not??

Cheers, Paul

Carl, the OP is referring to the heated rear screen on an E93, which I guess is probably different to the E92.

I used mine last week and I didn't notice any elements not being used. I think your dealer might be pulling your chain.

See pages 89 and 93 of manual, upper wires are used for aerial on certain equipment levels. My E93 approx 2 to 3 bars dont work, was worried at first because it seems a lot of screen uncleared.

Oh right - did not look at the manual to be honest!! (call me Carlos, lol!!)

Shame the dealer could not give such a technical reponse, lol. - All they said is that the one on the car park was the same so mine must be 'right'

Anyone else the same or has anyone got one that all works?? My car had no DAB radio. Nor bluetooth. Just the bog standad stereo.

I don't know the certain equip level but mine is standard radio with HI-FI option. Used this morning and just where you want visability (Top of screen) it takes at least 20 mins to clear the top section , first 2 bars dont work but looks like three inches of screen not clearing. Had E46 with inbuilt aerial and had no problems like this.

Thanks guys - looks like BMW have decided in their infinite wisdom to decide between a heated element OR a radio antenna! - why cant the lines do BOTH like most other cars!!!!!!!

It is quite annoying as you would expect the screen to clear fully and this morning the condensation runs down the part of the screen that has already cleared!!

At least I know it is not faulty
