Eisenmann
I am thinking about getting an Eisenmann Sport (Muffler only) fitted to my car as I think the Race version may be too loud on cold starts early in the morning, I live on a small gated community and I am on good terms with my neighbours.....
Quick question, if the Sport is too quiet has anybody done the 'oem mod' and wired open the valve and if so is it closer to the Race version? |

If you want less cold start noise, why would you wire open the valves? Get the sport, let the valves do their job. If you want more noise while driving, opt for the Eisenmann center pipes. Best of both worlds.

Im now of the opinion, that if im going to change the exhaust, it will be for the Eisenmann Race, or the Turner straight pipes. I think if you are going to do it, make sure its a definate change in sound, as in, is it worth changing to the sport system, for just a little bit more sound ?. I know the Sport and mid pipe system, may have the desired effect, but then cost becomes a player to me, as i will only pay so much. I would absolutely love the new M Performance system thats just been announced, it sounds fantastic, hits the nail on the head, but no way will i be paying possibly £5k. I havent even nailed my own car yet, as ive only done 650 miles, but on occasion, ive seen 6krpm, on half throttle, and the sound is coming on then, so im still unsure. Last night, after filling up with fuel, my wife decides to get out of the car, and get some milk, so as she is walking around the back of the car, i hit the throttle, and the loudest bang from the exhaust, erupts across the forecourt, and literally makes her jump sideways, as im sat there laughing at the M5 doing its thing. So, what im saying is, that the standard sound is not that bad at all, and im still not sure yet, but if im to change, it will be a definate change. Sorry for the long winded post, but its just another perspective, regards, SIMON. |

Oh, just go for it dudes! The race is epic and reasonable noise all at once. It's perfection for the F10 M5 and a "bargain" compared to full exhaust costs.
Worst case, you sell it - plenty of buyers. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Makes me smile each and every drive

Hi Rob, Do you notice any drone at all, with just the rear race cans ?. Also, do you retain the bangs from the exhaust, that can be mustered up, at idle, with a blast on the loud pedal?. I think the Eisenmann race, is as much as i would pay for an exhaust, i think its still expensive, but you get what you pay for. Over here, i think the price is around £2.5k, not sure what that equates to, where you are ?, regards, SIMON. |

same here, sud I get a Eisenmann sport rear + center pipes OR race rear muffler + center pipe OR like most suggested just a E race muffler without center pipe...once u hav few combo. but without having the chance to actually hear all of them, i find it real hard to pull the trigger. (Initially I plan to go for E race rear + resonated center pipe).
anyone has better experience?? |

No drone. A bit of resonance on deceleration at about 1800-2000 RPM. Not annoying. Highway cruising is perfect.
The sound on acceleration is phenomenal. Pops, farts, bangs are enhanced. I don't know what else to tell you guys. You should stop contemplating and just do it. Race mufflers only. Race cans with center pipes is too much if you are concerned about it. You lose the stock resonator, which could bring drone. I was not impressed by the sport cans, but I've never heard them with the eisenmann center pipes, so can't guide you there.

If anyone wants Sport, I'd be willing to sell mine at a discount over new, so I can upgrade to Race. I don't have any issues with being told my car is too loud

The Eisenmann Sport is probably the loudest exhaust after the Eisenmann Race. A lot louder than the Akrapovic, and it is noticeable in the cabin. However it sounds like a loud OEM exhaust rather than an aftermarket exhaust. If the M5 was like a Panamera GTS, then the Eisenmann Sport is the exhaust it would have.

Hey guys i am new to the forum and will be posting pictures soon, but got my e-race exhaust rear section installed a couple days ago, and this thing is amazing!! At first when i put it on, i thought it would be louder but once the exhaust breaks in, mann it sounds so sweet. It is louder for the average individual and it definitely makes people turn their heads when passing by with acceleration! Overall i think it fits the M5 perfectly and it does drone a little at 1500-2000 but i love it because it makes it sound like a true sports car just mean and aggressive! If your looking for quieter than go with the e-sport but if your looking for mean and aggressive than e-race is perfect, you will get attention, be warnedd!!

If your only gonna do the mufflers only you'll be fine. Only replacing the mufflers is not gonna make it that much louder. Replacing the center pipes makes the most difference.

is a non resonated center pipe plus E race rear gonna be unbearable? Will it be too much drone inside cabin which prevent a conversation takes place??
Or i should try the E race rear 1st. If not enough, can always add the non resonated center pipe after?Would this be the safest and most sensible way to go?? |

The best selling tip in the US for Eisenmann has been the 4x102mm Round tips then the 4x90mm.

There is no trimming required with the 102mm tips.
