What the hell? Rear Roundel has no Glue?!?

Ok, what gives? I just came in from washing my 323i and noticed the rear roundel moved a little when I passed my wash mitt over it. Upon closer examination, that sucker came right off! The two little pegs appear to be undamaged and also appear to be the only things holding the badge on. No adhesive residue, no two way tape remnants, nothing. Its reasonably tight with just those two posts, but I'll be sure to call the dealer in the morning and have them get me one with glue/tape/whatever.

Anybody else have this issue?

Very common to have posts on the roundel or rear/front logo in any case.
Sounds like either your holes are too big or your plastic is too small

I had to replace the roundel on my E32 and it was only affixed with the two pegs (no adhesives, or tape). I'm guessing that's the normal way to mount it.

Strange... maybe the adhesive pad was overlooked when your roundel was constructed? I couldn't say for certain either way though, I've never had any problems with mine.

Can somebody run out and just grab their roundel by the edges and see if it lifts out with an incredibly slight amount of force?

323i?? Well, I notice that the roundels on my 189 wheels all spin freely, which surprised me. I've never seen that before. So be it, I'm not going to redesign the rim for them, they should know better!

Garage List
There are two plastic gromets (the described 'pegs' above) that hold the emblem in place. Sounds like yours might not have been properly seated and fell out. I would recommend asking your dealership to fix it for you. They will probably have to remove the trunk lid liner.

Kinda remindered me of Tom Arnold's comment about Roasanne Barr: "....... even a 747 seems small when it’s flying in the Grand Canyon....."

Correct. There is no adhesive in the process of installing one of the roundels, except the one on the steering wheel. It's all done by grommets. I had the same problem with my hood grommet (moving a bit) and thought I was missing some adhesive. I got two new grommets and it seated tight as a rock.
