Here's a good thread. Some of these options are very good.

For a simple connection you can go to Radio Shack and just get a male to male 1/8" stereo connector.

The best solution (quality) is to use the Belkin Auto Kit for iPod w/ Dock Connector # F8V7058-APL-BLK (black version) and get a short male-male stereo audio mini-jack (Radio Shack). I wouldn't use the headphone port on the iPod... poor quality and you always have to play with the iPod volume. Plus, the Belkin Connector has a built-in pre-amp for additional volume.

This works great!

i don't think they have a nano specific version yet, but the original version should work too. Remember, any attachment that works in the "dock port" of one ipod model has to work the same on all the others.

How much is that set-up?

I was thinking about getting it but after reading around on a few sites it seems like there is concern with the battery. Do Belkin products really ruin the iPod battery?

Rinalds:

The Belkin F8V7058-APL-BLK is $39 and the audio cable from Radio Shack is about $3.00. I've never heard of the "battery" issue, but this setup works great and sounds as good as CD's.

You can get a used Belkin on Fleabay for about $10 delivered.

I have been using the Belkin charger for nearly three years with no problem.
