Hi all,

I'm currently considering purchasing a 2007 335i coupe. I test drove the car, the price is right, and I am very close to pulling the trigger. The only thing holding me back at this point is that the car still has the original wastegate/turbine setup, and hasn't had any service relating to the wastegate/turbine setup throughout its life.

Now, I know this can be a costly repair out-of-pocket, and I want to know: am I eligible to have the wastegate repaired or replaced if needed (as per the warranty extension)? The good news is that the car had its HPFP replaced in 2012

The turbo waste gates are covered for 8 years or 82,000 miles. The HPFP are covered for 10 years or 120,000 miles. Both warranties apply to the car, not owners. If the car has been sold 30 times and is still within the warranty period, its still covered.

So it's the part that's under warranty?

yeah as long as you're within the time period or mileage, whichever comes first, you're covered under the warranty
