Audio Quality with iPhone
I noticed something interesting yesterday with my iPhone 5 plugged in. The audio quality is considerably better when you don't use the iDrive to select a song, kinda hard to explain so stick with me lol....
Here's what I have: - iPhone 5 - Connected with the standard iPhone USB Lightning connector - Harmon Kardon If you simply plug in the phone without selecting a song or playlist from the iDrive and use the phone to select songs the audio quality seems considerably better. Bass is much much deeper and actually surprised me how strong it was in certain songs. And not in an obnoxious audio distorting way either. Reminded me why I got the HK upgrade. Now if you select the same song from the iDrive either with a search or any other way the bass goes almost completely flat. I mean it still sounds good but not that deep, full, window shaking goodness. If you use the steering wheel scroll wheel and see more than one song title on the HUD / instrument cluster you aren't in the "mode" I am referring to. Anyone else notice this? Pick a song with strong bass and test it out. Maybe it's just an iPhone 5 thing or lightning connector thing.
