3M Paint Defender Spray Film

Anyone try this stuff yet?

I just purchased it for my weekend project as it seems to be a more cost effective options for a leased vehicle, opposed to the professionally installed 3M bra.

I used it on my Grandmoms X5 2 weeks ago, so far it's holding up great!
Not as thick as my dipped X3 but, it's still thick enough for the everyday road protection!

I was think to go dipped but they don't have clear that dries without the matte look. The 3M depender says it last up to a year...does it peal off after that time is up, discolor, flake off?

They you can turn the matte look into gloss if you so wish which they sell a glossifier in gallons.
Yes, Plasti dip peels off ez if you put enough coats, does not discolor nor flake off,

Unless you are talking about the 3m defender which i dont have an answer about its longevity.

OT: How do you like your dip job? Would you do it again? Any problems/caveats/etc?

Thinking of doing mine. There is a local shop here that will do it for ~$850

I do have a background in painting so for me i find it ez, and of course i would do it again, infact i do dip my friends cars especially rims as a side job.

uhm for your F30, 850 is a bit steep, 550-650 is a good bargain.

Shops strips out the wax and any grease on the surface that needs to placed a bra on.

If you apply wax underneath the already applied clear bra, it will be lose and slip thus wasting your money on labor and clear bra
