Navigation retrofit

For the guys that have had this done or for the guys that do it.

When you upgrade your nav or retrofit through the 2 organisations that do it. If you get the full OEM activation does BMW then recognise your vin as having the cic/NBT navigation?

Also my car already has the business navigation installed. Surely there has to be some advantages to this? For example the car already has much of the coding that is required.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this not exactly a cheap exercise
