Some Info. on Tinting (Bay Area)
I looked on Yellow Page and called several shop for price quote, here's the information: (Quoted price is for tinting ALL windows)
Preferred Image, Redwood city Price:$195 Est. Time: 2-3 hours Rocky Mountin Window Tink, Fremont Price: $249 Time: 3 hours Driving edge Window Tinting Price:$300 Time: Half a day Professional window Tint, Sunnyvale Price $215 Time 4 hours ---------------------------------------------- Should I go for the cheapest? I want to save money but on the other hand worry that cheaper = lower quality. The "Driving Edge Window Tinting" is the most expensive, and seems like it is a one man company, because he said:" I only take appointment..." and he is the only one that told me "you know that tinting front window is illegal, right?" Had anyone here tinted their windows in any of the shop on the list? Which one should I chose?

I suggest you go with the best quality tinting shop, also ask for customer feedback rating if possible. You want a tinting shop that has a great reputation. Make sure they don't disassemble your door to get to the window, make sure they don't try anything to void the manufacturers warranty. You want tint that doesn't loose its color nor damages your car, if you can save money thats a bonus!
Good luck Wchew! Looking forward to those pics

Rocky Mountin Window Tint
I had my e46 M3's windows tinted at Rocky Mountain, it's been a year now, they did a good job and charged me $220. I'm planning to send my girl's 330i to there in a week...
Thanks for sharing your research by the way!! |

Fiberdesign in Fremont.
Also I prefer Auto Image in Belmont, CA. Jeff Tom is a pure savage when it comes to tinting. He does not remove door panels and keeps everything clean and offers full warranty. Auto Image is the shit. He charged me 220 for my e46. |

california auto tint in Campbell is a good place. I had mine done there. $350 for everything except front windshield. I know it's a expensive but it's worth it. They work on exotics and do work for many new car dealers around here.

Mr. Tint in Santa Clara off of Kiely Blvd is also great. Had my Range Rover, Prius, and prior BMW done there.
