"I don't need chopsticks, I bring my own"

I was eating at a sushi restaurant in San Mateo tonight, and midway through our dinner this Asian couple sat on the table next to us. I didn't think nothing of it, until the waiter started to give them their dinner settings ie. chopsticks, napkins, paper dinner mat. Once the waitress was about to give them new wooden chop sticks, she said shook her head and said "I don't need chopstick, I bring my own" My girlfriend and I were like...hmm strange...maybe want to eat sushi with their hands. Nothing wrong with that. Boy i was wrong. The girl whip out a pair of chopsticks wrapped in this fancy casing. I've seen strange things while dining but come on...bringing your own chopsticks? come on now..

Maybe her and her boyfriend didn't want to accidentally get splitters from the wooden chopsticks.

I used to work in South City, and we'd go there all the time afterwards. Great place for sushi. Actually one of my favorites and I'm picky when it comes to japanese food. I also like that ramen place too. There's always a line at lunch time, but it's definitely worth it!
