I finally received my strut bar today after waiting nearly a month for it to be finished production!

i will install it tonight and do a quick review soon

Edit: Installed!
Sorry for the crappy pictures, i don't have a real camera, just my galaxy note 2 and in my dark garage

install was pretty straight forward, take out bolts, put the strut bar into place and bolt it back on.
my torque wrench only went as low as 25ftlbs and it didnt click while taking the bolts off so im assuming its torqued less than that from factory
i couldn't find exactly how much to torque them down to so i torqued it at 25ft lbs

maybe i'm a bit OCD but it doesn't look as straight/lined up with the engine cover as their own pictures show

another thing is that the metal heatsink (not 100% sure what its called) comes very close to the strut bar but i revved the engine a bit and it never touched so let's hope it stays that way =/

It is raining and dark outside right now so i didnt get to test it much, just did a quick run in my neighbourhood and some quick steering jerking (left right left right left right on a straight) and the car does feel more composed.
but it could be placebo effect

will go out for a more aggressive run when it's dry outside

ps: that purple connector is my BMS stage 1 tune =)

EDIT:
So after driving it for a day I definitely feel that it makes a difference mainly when you jerk the wheel one way really quick.
I FEEL that there is less body roll in the front but like I said...could be placebo effect.

I mainly did some zig zagging (quickly turn the wheel left and right) and took some turns on local streets really fast (70ish out-in-out).

my dad drive the car as well not knowing that I changed anything and when he came back he asked me if I changed the suspension (he's not very knowledgeable about cars).
When I told him no and asked why he said he felt the car was more steady while taking the on ramp to the local highway.

he normally takes those turns at like 70 - 80kmps if they're no cars but he daid the car felt more "flat" during the turn.

That's my findings. I k ow therr is a lot of people skeptical about if strut bars do anything. in my e90 I felt that it didn't do anything but in the f30 I think it makes difference.

I know a lot of people will still argue that its a waste of money but to me it was worth it.
WARNING: once you put this on the engine cover is extremely hard to remove. I tested it out just now and you really go to bend the plastic with force in order to pull it out. once I got it off I couldn't put it back in so I had to remove the strut bar and remount it after I put the cover back on

the one i ordered is meant for the N20, it will not fit the N55 because the bar crosses the engine in between the air box and engine

like in this picture:

they do make one that is for the 2.0 Diesel F30, it looks like it will fit the 335 but im not 100% sure

If it is improving the handling then, I'm all for it. If it were me though, I would have to paint that bad boy black.

Wouldn't recommend this product...

Ultra Racing is a brand from Malaysia. Have been using it on my previous car which was a more track oriented NA car (Honda Accord Euro R)... Budget stuff I would say.

if you sent them an email at
ultrarscingautosport@gmail.com during the time they were taking preorders on ebay they offered me 150 express shipped but I asked them how about 120 regular shipped
they were ok with it but then their production kept on getting delayed and eventually they offered me free express shipping

Placebo effect is strong on this one. Good strut bars do little to begin with even on cars lacking in rigidity. This one has two bends in it, bolts to only a portion of the tower, and I'm assuming you installed it with front wheels on the ground. With the F30's gains in chassis-rigidity over previous generations, bracing for the strut tower is just engine dress-up.

BTW, you do know that it's impossible for a strut bar to have an effect on a car's body roll, right?

I am not a car expert by any means, but are you positive about a strut bars affect on body roll?

Strut bars only increase the body rigidity, i.e. reduce body flex... It does not reduce any body roll... That is achieved by sway bars, or anti-roll bars (as the name implies)

Just google, there are many in depth explanations and theories
