Remote Turn On Wire for Amp with Harmon Kardon

I am going with the HK harness and LC2i that Technic provides for the F30 with HK to add a sub in the trunk.

Has anyone found a way to reach a remote turn on wire for an aftermarket amp on an F30 with HK? I believe Technic has recommended using pin 10 on the Quadralock (back of iDrive) for the remote wire.

I found this topic discussing the possibility of finding a thin black wire behind the passenger rear seat to act as the remote wire, but I believe this was for the E92. I'm just trying to avoid going behind the dash of the car if possible.

Has anyone ever found this wire in an F30 yet?

remote wire possible location

I was not able to find the thin black wire on the passenger side C Pillar.

I checked the driver's side and found a possible wire located in the picture.

Has anyone ever known this wire to be on the driver's side in another model or different system (Hi Fi)?

I'm wondering if they moved the wire to the driver's side in F30?

That looks like a cable to me, not a wire.

Regardless, it is thinner than that.

No i never did find the wire. I ended up using one of the fuses in the rear that turns off after the car shuts down and had no problems.

fuse #146 with an add a fuse in the rear fuse box is the home link fuse i used after reading of others using this one.

I have the Hifi system. That should still work right? did use the fuse adapter for the remote in for the LOC and amp?

I used it to connect to the remote in on the LOC (LC2i) which shut down the amp as well once the car shut down.

I can't speak to which amp you are using, only that it will work for the remote wire to turn off when needed.

I see. I'm just purchased the Technic 676 add a sub harness and apparently it comes with a LOC and it has a remote turn on wire. The LOC isnt a LC2i but i guess if the LOC turns on it should automatically turn on the amp too right?

yes 146 will turn on when the car is running or in the Start position (button pressed with brake depressed) when parked aka Accessory mode. And send the the signal to the amp.
