Anyone look into iOS 7 yet? Plan on testing the first beta with my FTen MFive today.

Defiantly a bit buggy though. Mostly it's the iOS6 apps that are buggy. Couldn't switch to number keyboard so had to type ten and five out. Hopefully beta two comes out soon.

By the way, anyone else surprised to see APPL go this route with iOS7? I expected a refreshed UI, but not the lazy way.

- "Flat UI" - taken from Microsoft
- Control Panel - taken from Android
- etc..

But I should not be surprised. In today's tech world, competition companies are all going after the same designs and patents versus creating a better alternate product. I'm sure a patent suit will follow the release of iOS7.

Not complaining though. I prefer the iPhone over the others, so I'm glad some of my favorite features on the other UI's are now on iOS.

All you need is a dev. account correct?

I went from an iPhone 5 to Android Nexus a few months ago, but I'd like to try the beta on my iPhone 4 or iPad.

You need to have a dev account to use iOS7b1

I am using it too. I actually love the interface and the flat look. At first I didn't like it. Then I realized the stock wallpapers kill the contrast. Once you get the right wallpapers, the interface really pops. The animation is superb.

The calculator and the calendar need a lot of work though from an optics perspective.

There are definitely some Microsoft analogies in here. Overall though it still looks and feels like an Apple UI to me. The exceptions are calendar, text messaging, photos and the lock screen which do have a Microsoft look to me.

Can't comment on Android since I have very little experience with it.

Also no keyboard problems on my end. Perhaps your keyboard crashed.

Yeah I like the new style. Needed a change from the outdated first generation iOS GUI.

iOS7b1 is extremely glitchy, but defiantly useable. If you operate the phone as an average calm user, then you should avoid most of the glitches from occurring.

Not complaining though. If a first beta of anything is "useable" then I'm happy.

I tested iOS 7 out in my M5 without any problems. Also tried Apple Music (apple's pandora service) over BT. Really Apple Music is identical to Pandora.

I have now experienced 2 glitches:
1) Today my battery life has been plummetting. Down to 37% by 10am. Yesterday it was fine. Not sure what changed.
2) It initially refused to stream music over bluetooth to my GM rental car. However after making one phone call over bluetooth, the phone seemed to resolve the problem and the music streaming started working perfectly again.

Yep with non-usual use you'll find many more. Battery life always sucks in the betas. They are constantly patching new springboard battery "drain holes".

Springboard (the main menu) crashes and also keyboard crashes somewhat often.

Everything seemed to work in the M5 though, so that's good.

I had a full battery at 3:00pm and at 7:00pm I only have 15% left. Average battery life is around 5 hours in 7.0b1.

Lets hope b2 comes out within the next 1-2 weeks.

I think a lot of us had hoped email to iDrive would be fixed with iOS 7. I guess we'll be disappointed again.

This is a BETA version people, so it's bound to be buggy.
As of now, it will cause you issues, battery life, unstable performance, it's a part of the deal with these BETA versions.
As for looks goes, sure it have resemblence with other OS out there.
It's like other industries really, that look over each shoulders and made a tweak of what allready is out there.
The Iphone came in 07, and was due for a fresh new look, as for usage, it's basicly the same.
But what they have done with the IOS7 is make the whole thing more elegant and streamlined it.
but until the 5S is shown, the full potential of the IOS7 is yet to be seen.

No shit. I would never have guessed despite all the stickers on the Apple website and even the file name indicating it was a Beta.

MOG seems to be working perfectly on the M5. I tried MOG over bluetooth in a GM rental car and it was transmitting album covers too.

Have you had any luck with text message integration?

This might be a good time to activate your Dragon Drive free voice-to-text trial.

I'm running it on my iPhone 5. I like a lot of the features they've implemented; still a bit buggy, as that's to be expected. Battery life is a bit low, but I'm used to that using Spotify bluetooth audio streaming. I keep going back and forth between my iPhone and GS4. Hard for me to decide which to keep though as I like a lot of what Android has to offer. I guess we'll see what comes with the iPhone 5S and iOS 7 GM.
