Why can't the clock keep time?!?

Is it just me, or does the on-board computer clock lose time regularly and need correcting often??

Very frustrating, as my car loses 5mins + over the course of a week (cue comedy run to the train station from car park when the real time is discovered!).

Surely, given the car has a SIM it could slave time from the carrier (or even NTP from a data connection over the top)?

If I wanted crap timekeeping I'd have bought a Rolex! ;-)

A minor rant, for sure, but it's the little things....

Even better, if you have Navigation, sync the time to GPS data. I understand some car manufacturers are doing this now. Don't know why it's taken so long...

I haven't had any issues with time accuracy - clock in my car seems to keep to within a couple of seconds of 'real' time. Never had to adjust it.

Something certainly isn't right OP.

Even SomeRandomer123's clock is OK and his car is well faulty at the moment.

If I recall correctly, this can be coded, although I haven't tried it as my clock keeps time perfectly as it is.

Well, it's not that bad! Just a sum of niggling faults but I have faith in my dealership, they've always been ace and the few little faults aren't detracting from how awesome the 328i is!

BMW engineers are too smart to realize the simple things.
